Did you know that for the 1976 Cadillacs, Automatic Level Control was provided as standard equipment on the Eldorado, Fleetwood Sixty Special Brougham and the Fleetwood Seventy-Five Sedan and Limousine, and was optional on all of the other models? Well, you would if you had this book. It's all right there at section 4-15. You'd also know that the system consists of an air compressor and tank assembly, pressure regulator, control valve and link, two superlift rear shock absorbers and flexible air lines. They even include two top-notch illustrations showing you the layout of the components. If your Air Level Control system has...uhm..."let you down"...(sorry). This shop manual is definitely the first and best tool to have in order to..."inflate" your knowledge about repairs...(sorry again). It will walk you through diagnostic charts, part descriptions, detailed instructions, testing procedures and more.
Did you also know that due to a decline in demand, and a fear of government regulations (which did not actually appear), Detroit automakers phased-out the convertible in the mid-70s? Cadillac was certainly aware, and 1976 was the last year that the Eldorado convertible was available. In fact, General Motors went to great lengths to declare them as "the last American convertible". They even produced a run of 200 convertibles known as Bicentennial Edition models which featured white paint with red and blue pinstriping among other features.
