This is a high-quality, licensed, PRINT, reproduction of the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) 1977-1978 GMC Motorhome Shop Manual Supplement which was written and first published by GMC Truck & Coach Division.
NOTE: This manual is a supplement. It was written by GMC to be used together with the 1975-1976 GMC Motorhome Shop Manual which can be found by clicking on its link - referenced previously in this sentence.
Everyone knows that GMC knocked it out of the park with their motorhomes in the 1970s. Certainly not everything from that decade can claim their styling has endured the test of time. For instance, the general public isn't currently wearing many shirts and jackets with their collars and lapels stretched-out to the ends of their shoulders. Likewise, you'll scarcely see many bell-bottoms, platform shoes or other outrageous fashions that were so "in" during the disco era. Fortunately, GMC was well ahead of the game with their handsome, sleek, space-age look, which also offered a wealth of great engineering to back it up.
The 1975-1976 GMC Motorhome Shop Manual was a beast, but by 1977, GMC decided to put out this supplement to cover the latest changes and innovations. Beyond general information, periodic maintenance and lubrication, this manual addresses such areas as: body, heating and air conditioning, frame, front suspension, final drive, rear suspension, brakes, engine, cooling, fuel, emission controls, electrical, fuel tank and exhaust, steering, wheels and tires, chassis electrical, radiator and coolant recovery, miscellaneous GMC living area facilities and even metric information and wiring diagrams.
It's important to point out one of the items on the previous listmiscellaneous GMC living area facilities. That portion of this book covers topics such as: living area electrical, motor generator, refrigerator, furnace, living area water system, toilet and holding tank and drainage system. That means you are not only getting a manual to cover the usual mechanical aspects of the motor vehicle, but you are also getting a great set of directions to work on all the things that make it a home, and not just a truck.
This supplement alone comes in at over 460 pages! It's loaded with step by step instructions which have been enhanced by including a huge amount of black and white photographs, tables, illustrations, cut-away views, exploded diagrams and much more. As if that isn't a ton of useful information already, you'll be excited to find out that you also get 12 fold-out wiring diagrams in this service manual!
